Munich, 17 September 2026<\/span><\/b> \u2013 The team consisting of <\/span>Dr Claus Jessen, Dr Tobias Bingold and Christoph H\u00fc\u00dftege<\/span><\/b> has been nominated for the <\/span>Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2026<\/span><\/b>, the Federal President\u2019s Award for Technology and Innovation. The nomination recognises the innovative strength of the <\/span>ADVOS multi therapy<\/span><\/b>, a technology platform designed to support the liver, kidneys and lungs while enabling targeted regulation of acid-base balance in critically ill patients.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>ADVOS multi therapy<\/span><\/b> was developed by <\/span>ADVITOS GmbH<\/span><\/b> in Munich to provide new treatment options for people suffering from multi-organ failure and severe acidosis, and to advance intensive care medicine significantly. More than two decades of scientific research, development, technological pioneering and interdisciplinary collaboration have contributed to this innovation.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The starting point was the vision of Munich-based nephrologist <\/span>Dr Bernhard Kreymann<\/span><\/b>, who sought to rethink the treatment of severe liver dysfunction. Multi-organ failure is among the most serious complications encountered in intensive care units. The <\/span>ADVOS multi therapy<\/span><\/b> combines expertise from intensive care medicine, nephrology, hepatology, biochemistry and process engineering. Decision to Be Announced on 18 November 2026 in Berlin<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The winning team of the <\/span>Deutscher Zukunftspreis 2026<\/span><\/b> will be announced during the award ceremony on <\/span>18 November 2026<\/span><\/b> in Berlin. On that occasion, <\/span>Federal President Dr Frank-Walter Steinmeier<\/span><\/b> will personally present the award to the winning team.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The <\/span>Deutscher Zukunftspreis<\/span><\/b> is awarded annually and is considered one of Germany\u2019s most prestigious honours for technology and innovation. It is the only award presented by the Federal President. Research and development teams cannot apply directly but must be nominated by authorised institutions. An independent jury selects three finalist teams each year. The prize honours outstanding achievements in technology, engineering and the natural sciences that have resulted in market-ready solutions with demonstrated benefits for society and the economy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
